He angitūtanga | The OpportunityWe're looking for a talented and experienced Chef Manager to lead our kitchen team at Fonterra Whareroa in Hāwera. You'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service, from menu planning and stock control to team leadership and client engagement. This is a hands-on leadership role where your culinary expertise and people skills will shine.Ko ō kawenga | Your Responsibilities
  • Plan and cost menus that meet customer and enterprise requirements, including dietary and cultural needs.
  • Lead and manage kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of performance, food safety, and teamwork.
  • Oversee stock ordering, receiving, rotation, and storage, maintaining budgetary control.
  • Prepare, cook, and present food to a high standard, including buffet and event catering.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Fonterra client and ensure compliance with safety standards.
He kōrero mōu | About You
  • Hold an NZQA Level 4 Cookery Certificate or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role, with proven leadership and culinary skills.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
