As a Water Engineer, you'll lead and support diverse projects tailored to today's infrastructure challenges, from stormwater and wastewater networks to flood risk and hydraulics. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that combine technical excellence with long-term resilience.Key Responsibilities
- Design and model hydraulic systems including three waters infrastructure, flood mitigation, and water-sensitive urban design.
- Prepare feasibility studies, technical specifications, and detailed design packages.
- Coordinate with cross-functional experts geotechnical, structural, mechanical to ensure seamless project delivery from concept to construction.
- Engage with local councils and clients throughout procurement, resource consenting, and project delivery phases.
- Bring innovative modelling tools to bear, applying both 1D network and 2D overland flow analysis to support robust design decisions.
You're passionate about providing safe, future-proof infrastructure that communities can rely on. Ideally, you will have:
- A Civil or Environmental Engineering degree (or equivalent) with NZ Chartered status or working toward it.
- 3-6 years of experience in water infrastructure, flood risk, or stormwater engineering in New Zealand or similar environments.
- Proven skills in hydraulic modelling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, TUFLOW, InfoWorks) and design platforms like Civil 3D, SSA, or 12d.
- Strong communication, client-facing abilities, and experience working across disciplinary boundaries.
- A practical mindset focused on delivering durable, sustainable and maintainable solutions.
