AECOM is proud to be a Fortune 500 Most Admired Company, a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality, #Work180 Equitable Workplace Awards 2025 Winner and an AWEI Bronze Tier LGBTQ+ Inclusive EmployerJob DescriptionAECOM's dynamic Water group in Auckland is growing and we are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior level Civil Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team.The Water Infrastructure group provides services to a range of internal and external clients on projects covering water and wastewater treatment, dams, asset management, major conveyance, industrial, civil infrastructure, and defence sectors, with a key focus on supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.By joining our team, you will have access to mentoring and guidance from our industry leading experts. You will also have the opportunity to support a variety of major projects locally as well as in Australia.How you'll make a difference
  • You will have the opportunity to get involved in coordinating, managing and completing projects from inception, including involvement in the bidding phase, concept design, detailed design, tendering, and construction phase support.
  • Deliver work packages at different stages (50%, 90%, and IFC), maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to project schedules.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, and engineers, to ensure integrated and effective project execution.
  • Review and approve complex technical drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all designs comply with regulatory requirements and promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.

  • A relevant tertiary degree and CPEng (or working towards).
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering detailed designs of potable water and wastewater networks, including adoption of Auckland Council and Watercare standards.
  • Exposure to various aspects of the capital project lifecycle from planning, through design, construction and commissioning.
  • Civil / Transportation or Rail - 5 years experience with involvement in stormwater for major / mid infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in 12d (including drainage module) preferably, knowledge of Hec-Ras advantage
  • Proficient in earthworks and drainage modelling (basins, ponds, channels, pipe network)
  • Knowledge of local authority design criteria (Auckland, Wellington) for roading, stormwater desirable.
