The OpportunityThis is a rare chance to establish and grow the New Zealand presence of a global automotive trading group. You will not only drive sales into the dealer network but also shape how the business operates and scales locally. This requires both commercial leadership and the ability to get hands-on.Candidates with backgrounds in automotive sales, wholesale distribution, finance, or dealer development will be considered, provided they bring proven dealer relationships and a strategic mindset.Responsibilities
  • Lead dealer sales and drive monthly unit growth while building long-term market position.
  • Build and manage relationships with logistics, inspection, and finance partners to create a full-service offering.
  • Oversee local operations including budgets, compliance, and commercial agreements.
  • Act as the key point of contact with Japan HQ, aligning local execution with global strategy.
  • Establish the operating rhythm, reporting, and performance measures to enable scale.
  • Provide market insights to influence wider business strategy and future service development.
Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years in dealer-facing roles across automotive sales, wholesale, or finance, with a proven record of growth.
  • Strong understanding of NZ automotive market dynamics, compliance and dealer funding models.
  • Commercial acumen, able to balance immediate sales with long-term positioning.
  • Track record of managing external partners and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Hands-on operator comfortable building from scratch while thinking two steps ahead.
