- Marine Engineer and Naval Architect
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on the company's marine fleet to high safety and compliance standards.
- Plan and manage spare parts, resources, and maintenance schedules to minimise vessel downtime.
- Operate tugs as Chief or Second Engineer for harbour towage and coastal voyages, assisting with deck and emergency operations when required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the Maximo system and recommend improvements to vessel performance.
- Work collaboratively with crew to share operational duties and manage fatigue risks.
- Ensure tug engine rooms and related spaces are kept clean, safe, and well-organised.
- Actively promote and participate in health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
- MEC 1 or MEC 2 ECE.
- Advanced diagnostic and problem-solving skills, applying systematic techniques to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ship safety systems and their application to ensure safe operations.
- Flexible time management skills suited to on-call and shift operations, with proven experience in maintaining performance and safety standards through effective fatigue management.
- Previous harbour tug operations experience.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of Azimuth Thruster and Voith Propeller Systems.
- Electrical and control systems maintenance and diagnostic skills.
- Seagoing experience beyond coastal limits.
- Relevant tertiary qualification, for example, a Diploma in Engineering or other.
