Connect with Place.We're looking for a confident, experienced driver and natural leader to join our team as Head Shuttle Driver & Beach Controller. This is a unique opportunity to combine your driving expertise, leadership skills, and passion for people in one of Aotearoa's most iconic tourism experiences.About the RoleAs Kaiurungi Matua Waka Kōpiko & Kaitiaki Tātahi, you'll lead our shuttle driving team and oversee beachside operations at Shotover Jet. You'll ensure every journey is safe, smooth, and welcoming - from hotel pick-up to jetty check-in.This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you'll:
- Train and support shuttle drivers
- Maintain vehicle safety and compliance
- Deliver engaging commentary and manaakitanga to manuhiri (visitors)
- Coordinate beach operations including check-ins, safety briefings, and jetty management
- Foster a positive, culturally confident team environment
- Valid Class 2 driver's licence and P endorsement
- 12+ months' experience leading a team of drivers
- 12+ months' experience in tourism or customer service
- Strong manual driving skills and vehicle compliance knowledge
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills
- Winter driving training or SAFED certification
- Experience in operational leadership within tourism
