Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThe role of Regional Director is responsible for leading the delivery of Hauora Māori services in the regions. This role is focused on commissioning, delivery of patient facing services and monitoring of sector and service performance to improve Hauora Māori outcomes. Regional Directors are also members of the Hauora Māori Service Senior Leadership Team who collectively ensure that efforts are prioritised to focus on the things that will make the biggest health impact for Māori.About the Team/ServiceAs the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care. The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered. We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.About youYou will be able to provide strategic direction and oversight to regional workforces, as well as providing direction for regional service improvement and planning for the delivery of services and whānau-centred models of care. You will be skilled at working collaboratively and using your influence skills to focus delivery and lift performance.You will have:
  • A minimum seven years' experience at a senior level
  • Experience leading senior management and professional teams in demanding and dynamic environments
  • Significant experience in operational leadership roles within the health sector with a focus on empowering others to achieve excellence including returns on investment
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and performance management, with a focus on equity
