Our Finegand site, based in Balclutha, have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician looking for the experience of working in an established IANZ and MPI RLP Recognised Laboratory.We are looking for a person who can juggle a diverse range of tasks from sample collection through to reporting and client liaison as well as the full range of laboratory support functions.The successful applicant will be part of a small, high functioning team responsible for regular quality control testing and sampling of a wide range of export products, water supplies and environmental samples.You will also be responsible for the calibration of test equipment, maintaining a neat working environment and ensuring that all safety standards are complied with. This position will suit an applicant who can operate independently and shows a high degree of initiative.Ōu Pūkenga/About You:
Previous experience in a laboratory would be preferred but not essential. The key is the ability to work as part of a team, use analytical and problem-solving skills to provide a top-level service to the processing site.The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Microbiology/Chemistry).
- Previous experience as a Key Technical Personnel (KTP) or the willingness to learn.
- Experience with quality systems.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- A methodical approach to work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
