We deliver personalised learning programmes from early childhood through to NCEA Level 3, including young adult and adult learners.For over 100 years, we've supported learners across Aotearoa — evolving from lessons once delivered on horseback to today's lessons delivered online and in person, including to learners overseas.Our vision: to empower ākonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, becoming engaged, contributing members of their communities.Ki te tī, ki te tā, ki te katoa – Anytime, anywhere, anyone.Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this positionWe are looking to recruit a National Leader of Learning - Pasifika who will be responsible for the design and review of curriculum following the direction set by Te Whāriki and the New Zealand Curriculum, and national leadership of Te Ara Pounamu, Te Kura's local Big Picture curriculum.In addition to the general requirements for National Leaders of Learning, Schedule A of the Position Description outlines the specialised responsibilities of the National Leader of Learning – Pasifika.The National Leader of Learning – Pasifika plays a key role in shaping and embedding culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy across Te Kura. This role leads innovation and collaboration to ensure equitable learning opportunities and outcomes for ākonga Pasifika, while strengthening connections with Pacific communities.Ko koe tēnei | About youYou are inclusive, innovative and focussed on developing effective relationships with external stakeholders that contribute to improved engagement and outcomes for ākonga Pasifika at Te Kura. Your collaborative approach will ensure equitable learning opportunities for ākonga Pasifika, including supporting the promotion of Te Kura within Pasifika communities.You are passionate about engaging with and strengthening connection with Pacific communities by demonstrating:
  • Strong leadership, in embedding Pasifika perspectives in curriculum design and delivery
  • Deep cultural understanding and respect for Pasifika identities, languages and values
  • The ability to represent Te Kura in Pasifika contexts and support community engagement initiatives.
