POSITION OVERVIEWA consultant adult general psychiatrist is sought for a full time permanent position with a community psychiatry service which provides a range of services for people aged 18-65 with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.Duties:
  • work in multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists
  • assess, diagnose and treat patients referred to the service
  • participate on on call rota
  • educate and supervise resident doctors
Remuneration
  • ASMS Scale salary for 40 hour work week plus additional on call allowances
  • superannuation
  • 6 weeks annual leave
  • relocation package for international physicians
Professional Requirements
  • FRANZCP or equivalent qualification
  • Vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or hold equivalent qualification and be able qualify for registration with MCNZ.
