Lead the theatre team for our General and Head & Neck cases, at Mercy Hospital's Operating Theatres. This is a permanent full time position working rostered shifts Mon-Fri, with some on call and weekend lists. The role:This is a great opportunity for a Perioperative RN wanting to take that first step into a leadership position. Your responsibilities will include resourcing and procurement of both staff and equipment for our general operating theatres. You will report directly to the Charge Nurse Manager for General/Cardiac, who in turn reports to the Theatre Manager, so there's lots of support for you in this role.To succeed you'll need:

  • Some experience supervising services and/or people
  • Strong coordination and delegation skills - you think on your feet and make effective decisions
  • To be well organised and well-prepared with a positive attitude and professional maturity
  • Great at building positive relationships with all members of the Operating Rooms including our Surgeons and Anaesthetists
The benefits:You will enjoy a supportive working environment, autonomy of practice, very competitive pay rates, free car parking, access to our internal leadership development programme, EAP, and a Christmas close-down that allows you to enjoy the festive season with your friends and family, and so much more…..About us:We're part of the Healthcare Holdings Group of companies and we're New Zealand's largest private surgical facility with 22 theatres (plus 10 under construction here at Mercy) across 3 sites that includes an ICU and HDU.
