| - |We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a highly regarded organisation that specialises in the design, development, and improvement of advanced heavy machinery. This is your chance to work on unique, high-impact projects from concept through to commissioning, making a tangible difference in a collaborative environment.This is a newly created role, based in the Rotorua, Bay of Plenty driven by a surge in work orders and growing demand.The Role
This role provides engineering expertise to support sales, service, and manufacturing, ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality machinery. You'll create innovative designs, improve existing products, and drive functionality while reducing costs.You will:
  • Design new heavy machinery and improve existing systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenges with practical engineering solutions
  • Provide input into tenders and quotes during sales concept meetings
  • Offer technical support across all project stages
  • Work closely with the manufacturing and workshop teams, providing technical support and detailed drawings

Ideal Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Experience with heavy machinery design, including FEA and structural load analysis
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor and knowledge of fabrication processes
  • A solutions-focused mindset and excellent written and communication skills
  • Be able to work both in a team environment and autonomously
