This role is pivotal for those with a passion for nurturing and developing future leaders and officers within our dynamic organisation.Mō tēnei tūranga - about the roleThe Manager Specialist Training reports to the Manager, Training Centre Delivery within Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ). Based in our National Training Centre (NTC) in Rotorua, you will be responsible for the efficient management and coordination of the delivery of specialist training courses and programmes for all of FENZ.You will be collaborating with other delivery managers to ensure a nationally consistent approach to the training delivery and resourcing of our national programmes. Leading and managing a team of three, you will work together to ensure both organisational and student requirements are met to ensure quality learning outcomes.Be a part of our dedicated team and help protect what matters most. Join us and make a difference!Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role:You will be able to demonstrate strong experience in adult education with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Bringing a passion for leadership, you will be adept at managing teams, driving quality assurance, and fostering stakeholder engagement to create a positive impact.To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and motivate teams positively
  • Hold a Certificate or Diploma in Adult Education and Training or working towards
  • A sound technical knowledge and proven operational experience, including emergency service operations and incident management
  • Experience in adult education and training
  • Collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement
  • Good time management with ability to advise what is possible within time constraints
  • Adept computer literacy skills with experience using Microsoft Planner
