This role supports and provides education to Te Whatu Ora social workers on the Protection of Personal & Property Rights Act 1988 (PPPR) process.This role is a permanent, part time position working 28 hours per week between 8.00am and 4.30pm. The days and hours of work are negotiable across the 28 hours per week, as agreed with the Hiring Manager.Tasks include:
  • Coordinating and supporting colleagues to implement Te Whatu Ora systems and processes regarding PPPR
  • Understanding and engaging in Family Court processes regarding PPPR applications
  • Provide individual and group education to increase awareness of the PPPR Act 1988
  • Maintain professional standards and take part in the responsibility for ongoing professional development
  • Participates in the development and delivery of culturally/professionally acceptable services to Te Whatu Ora - Health NZ clients and families/whanau.
  • Be an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team process that focuses on meeting quality outcomes for clients.
Key Requirements:
  • Current registration with NZ Social Workers Registration Board
  • Current full Drivers Licence
  • Experience working with individuals and families with diverse needs
  • Relevant social work experience that can be translated into an acute health setting
To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in social work processes, theories and concepts including a sound working knowledge of the PPPR process and associated legislation. You will have the ability to maintain professional standards and competence.
