Our whole Retail team perform an important role ensuring that our Z sites can deliver what our customers want and need, safely and effectively. Our Z Retailers operate as independent business owners and as the Hoa Umanga Haumaru, Oranga, Tūraru Safety, Wellbeing & Risk Business Partner you will work closely with them to embed systems and structures that manage risk as well as building capability.In this role you will continue with the mahi that is embedded at Z, ensuring that the culture, capability and systems required to understand the risks that we choose to take and the ways that those risks are managed are in line with Z’s organisational risk management system, legal obligations, and good practice.If you are looking to bring your retail, safety and risk management and leadership experience to a varied organisation where you can create partnerships through advice and guidance, this could be just the challenge you are looking for – let's kōrero!This role can be based in either Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland or Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.You will have the opportunity to

Create partnerships to ensure the requirements of our risk management system (ZORM) are understood and implemented
Coach and build the capability of the Retail team and our retailers to ensure the requirements of these systems and obligations are met
Facilitate cyclical activities around risk reviews, incidents and change management
Conduct and act on learning processes when opportunities for improvement are identified
Operate as a visible safety leader and subject matter expert, championing safe practices at Z
Work closely with retailers and Z Senior Leaders on both cyclical tasks and incident focused work
Travel to our retail sites regularly across Aotearoa New Zealand

QualificationsWhat you’ll bring to Z

Experience in a senior Health Safety or Risk role in a complex commercial and operational environment
Experience in a retail or franchise model business, working with owner/operators would be highly regarded
Conversant with relevant legislation and best practice for operational risk management practice as well as knowledge of risk management systems
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and confidently to diverse stakeholders—ranging from day-to-day interactions to presenting at team meetings and retailer workshops.The ability to coach and mentor leadership teams and risk owners across the business, supporting them to design & implement risk reduction strategies
Experience driving cultural change with knowledge of building and executing on business plans
Skilled in the prioritisation of requests and resources
The flexibility to commit to a regular cadence of travel, our retail network is nationwide

The base salary range for this role is $152,100 to $178,950 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.Why Z?Z has always been a proud Kiwi company.
