Are you a strategic leader with a proven ability to shape organisational frameworks, influence senior decision-makers, and drive alignment between health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) programmes and enterprise risk management? If so, this opportunity as the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy & Assurance Manager role may be for you.This is not an operational or frontline role-it's about leading from the front, providing expert advice to the Board and Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and ensuring Aurora Energy's HSW strategy is robust, future-focused, and aligned with regulatory requirements. You'll be instrumental in embedding HSW into the fabric of our organisation while building strong relationships.What You'll Do:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a multi-year HSW strategy that aligns with Aurora Energy's vision. Translate this strategy into actionable plans that deliver measurable outcomes across the business.
  • Board Engagement: Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice to the Board of Directors (Health & Safety Committee) and ELT on HSW risks, obligations, opportunities, and performance. Ensure governance reporting is accurate, timely, and insightful.
  • Risk Alignment: Oversee the integration of HSW activities into Aurora's enterprise risk management framework. Act as Risk Owner for critical HSW risks, ensuring controls are effective and assurance activities are rigorous.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal risk champions and risk owners, regulators, industry associations. Monitor emerging compliance requirements and ensure Aurora remains ahead of legislative changes.
  • Framework Development: Design and maintain a comprehensive HSW assurance framework that drives continuous improvement while meeting regulatory standards. Facilitate independent maturity assessments to benchmark progress annually.
What We're Looking For:We're seeking a candidate who excels in strategic thinking, governance oversight, and regulatory engagement. Someone who can provide clarity in complex environments while influencing senior leaders to make informed decisions about HSW risks. Your ability to build collaborative relationships across functional boundaries will be key to embedding best practices throughout the organisation.Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in HSW or related discipline (Level 7+).
  • Proven expertise in aligning HSW programmes with enterprise risk frameworks.
  • Experience in designing and implementing multi-year strategies or programmes that deliver measurable outcomes across an organisation.
  • Proven ability to provide clear, evidence-based advice to boards and executive teams, including preparing high-quality reports and presenting complex information in a way that drives informed decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of legislative compliance frameworks and regulatory engagement.
