Since 2017 we have been part of Vector Limited, so you know you have the backing of a company that is leading the transformation of the energy sector.About the role:HRV has an exciting opportunity for an accountant to join our Finance team in Penrose for a 6-month fixed-term maternity leave cover starting in May 2024.As a valued member of our team, you will be reporting to our GM of Finance and Business Support and working closely with our accountant and management accountant on a day-to-day basis. You will play a crucial role by bringing an exceptional level of attention to detail, identifying opportunities to enhance our processes and solve problems as they arise, accuracy, and strong communication skills to complete tasks including (but not limited to):

Provide expertise in financial accounting, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards.
Maintain accurate financial records, including Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Generate timely and accurate financial reports to support decision-making.
Collaborate with regional and operations managers to facilitate efficient financial reporting.
Support the Finance Business Partner and Accountants with ad hoc requests and projects as needed.

To succeed in this role, we're looking for someone with:

Professional certification (e.g., CAANZ membership)
3+ years of experience in financial accounting
Thorough understanding of NZ IFRS accounting standards
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, familiarity with ERP environments preferred
