Transpower owns and operates the National Grid, transporting high-voltage electricity from where it's generated to large users and distribution businesses nationwide. As a key player in the electricity sector, we're enabling accelerated electrification and a sustainable, net carbon zero future.About the teamTo deliver this future, our Grid Delivery division oversees all work on New Zealand's transmission network, including project and maintenance activities with our service provider organisations. We manage approximately $650M in capital and $150M in maintenance expenditure annually, with significant growth forecast.Our Project Support team plays a critical role in enabling this work, providing project support and performance services to over 70 Project Managers delivering grid capital investigation and build projects. Check out the mahi we support here:About the opportunityIf you're seeking interesting and meaningful work with strong development potential, this role offers both.As part of our team of Project/Programme Coordinators, based in Auckland or Wellington, you'll provide end-to-end support services to Investigation Project Managers. Working collaboratively, you'll connect tasks and information to enable smooth delivery of our capital programme.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the key point of contact for project support and information.
  • Providing financial management support, including forecasting, invoicing, accruals, and variance reporting.
  • Monitoring and analysing reports and metrics to support effective project management.
  • Driving continuous improvement and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.

  • Proven experience in a project or programme coordination role.
  • Strong financial acumen and familiarity with financial management systems.
  • Analytical skills to assess issues and identify exceptions.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including project, Excel and Office 365. Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot (or a willingness to learn) is desirable.
  • Exceptional organisational, coordination, and administrative abilities to ensure our projects run smoothly.
Nice to have (but not essential):
  • Experience in documenting business processes, procedures, or training materials.
  • Project Management Certification (CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
