Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the roleTe Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kāiarahi Tahua Tauira - Student Finance Adviser to join the Student Finance team in a permanent, full-time role.Kāiarahi Tahua Tauira - Student Finance Advisers are responsible for promoting and supporting financial capability within our students, administering our Hardship Fund, and collaborating with wider University teams to ensure our services reach students in need.Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver high quality, confidential, and non-judgmental financial advice that meets students' individual needs, increases their financial capability, and helps them achieve their full academic potential.
  • Deliver workshops, presentations, and other content as required on financial literacy and budgeting to a wide range of students.
  • Process Hardship applications and provide impartial assessment for Scholarships on the basis of financial hardship in a thorough and timely manner to ensure fair decisions are made.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  • Previous experience of a strong client centric approach to delivering excellent customer service or client services.
  • Proven ability to work to a very high standard of accuracy, with an appreciation of the importance of data integrity.
