BestStart Stokes Valley is searching for a passionate and experienced Head Teacher to lead our Tui Room (2-5 years). This is a special opportunity to guide a vibrant preschool classroom of 41 tamariki from wonderfully diverse cultural backgrounds, supported by a dedicated and experienced team of Kaiako.Our centre sits in the heart of Stokes Valley, just a short walk from local amenities including the library, swimming pool, supermarket, shops, and the Koraunui Community Hub. We see ourselves as part of the village that raises our tamariki, creating a safe and inspiring haven where children can learn, grow, and thrive.Our team is warm, collaborative, and community-focused. We value intentional teaching, creativity, and curiosity, working together to ensure every child feels supported, confident, and ready for the future.What We're Looking ForWe're looking for a qualified and registered ECE Teacher who is ready to lead with confidence, compassion, and innovation. You will bring:

A Level 7 ECE teaching qualification with current NZ Teaching Certification
Proven leadership experience, or readiness to step into leadership
Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, child-led learning, and play-based practice
The ability to lead curriculum planning, assessment, and internal evaluation
A focus on building social-emotional competence and school readiness
Excellent coaching, mentoring, and communication skills
A warm and community-minded approach to leadership
