Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the roleTe Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a fixed-term, part-time Teaching Assistant to help coordinate LAWS111's tutorial operation and support delivery in an intensive online format. The role spans the full 12 weeks (17 Nov-19 Dec 2025; 5 Jan-22 Feb 2026), with tutorials Tue-Fri at 07.30 (1h) and 5.30 (1h) via Zoom. Tutorials cannot be postponed; you help ensure coverage. Duties include rosters and rolls, team comms/cover, Nuku engagement, assessment marking and Week 12 final invigilation; you also step in to teach when needed.Key responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the tutorial roster and rolls; communicate changes; arrange emergency cover; liaise with the Course Coordinator and Course Administrator.
  • Monitor and engage on Nuku to prompt participation and respond to queries.
  • Deliver allocated tutorials and step in when necessary.
  • Mark the assessments and invigilate the Week 12 final.
Ō pūmanawa - About youYou will be a law graduate with teaching experience, strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.Key requirements:
  • Law graduate with prior teaching involvement in law courses.
  • Confident online facilitation; reliable under time pressure; Nuku/Zoom ready.
