This is no ordinary HSW role - we're after someone who's eager to get stuck in, build trusted relationships, and coach others toward a safer, healthier workplace. You'll bring a solid foundation of technical HSW expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, hands-on approach. Strong administrative capabilities are a must, and if you've led projects or delivered impactful training, that's a definite bonus. You'll be part of a high performing, engaged and supportive team that's passionate about lifting HSW maturity across the business. While we take our work seriously, we also believe in having fun along the way - you'll enjoy a great team culture as you make a real impact. • Be a culture shifter - coach and partner with leaders to spark meaningful, lasting change.
  • Bring your HSW smarts - offer practical advice grounded in strong technical know-how.
  • Take the lead - scope, shape, and deliver impactful projects with a strategic edge.
  • Make it stick - create and deliver training that's not just informative but genuinely engaging.
  • Dig into the 'why' - support investigations and reviews that focus on learning, not blame.
  • Be a change-maker - champion modern safety thinking like Safety II and HOP in a hands-on way.
  • Team up - collaborate with our wider People & Safety crew to keep improving what we do and how we do it.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Is a natural people person - can read the room, build rapport fast, and communicate with confidence.
  • Has a minimum of 3+ years' experience in a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor or Business Partner role, or equivalent dedicated HSW experience.
  • Has a diploma or degree in HSW (or is on the journey there - we love lifelong learners!).
  • Is happy to hit the road - this isn't a behind the desk role. Ideally you'll be based in the Waikato Region as you'll be on the road across the Upper North Island (Taupō north), spending several nights away each month and providing hands-on support where it matters most.
  • Who is curious, open-minded, and always looking for ways to grow and improve.
  • Can take technical HSW info and turn it into practical, plain-language advice that sticks.
  • Bonus points for experience in agriculture, logistics, or hazardous substances - or a keen attitude to learn.
  • Sees incidents as learning opportunities and brings a systems-thinking approach to reviews.
  • Is confident leading from the front - whether it's a presentation, induction, or team training session.
Why join us?If you're looking for a role with real purpose in one of New Zealand's most iconic agri-businesses - this is it. You'll be part of a high-performing, down-to-earth team that's passionate about lifting health, safety and wellbeing across the business. We offer great training, ongoing development, and the chance to grow your HSW career in a meaningful way. You'll influence real change, support our people on the ground, and make a genuine impact for our teams, our customers, and the rural communities we're proud to serve. So, if you're ready to roll up your sleeves, have a bit of fun along the way, and help shape the future of safety at PGW - we'd love to hear from you.
