Job Description:The CompanyMy client is a medium sized entity in growth mode who are continuing to expand and drive the performance of their business. The company is circa $70M t/o and operates in a complex environment with opportunities galore. This is a newly created role to partner the CFO directly to enable effective decision making.The company is based in South/East Auckland, and has a lovely feel with modern offices, parking on site and an opportunity to make a difference.The RoleThe Finance Analyst role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with an accomplished and knowledgeable CFO. With the monthly accounting tasks managed by an external provider within the broader "Group" of entities, this position is focused on analytical work and ad hoc projects. The primary objective of the role is to ensure senior management has access to clear, actionable information to support commercial decision-making.Key responsibilities include:

Developing dynamic financial models on an ad hoc basis to provide meaningful insights for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Partnering with stakeholders to build, interpret, and refine financial models, forecasts, and cost estimates.
Evaluating financial data to uncover risks, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization.
Leading various ad hoc modelling scenarios and preparing business cases.
Tracking costs against budgets, reporting on variances, and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
Performing financial analysis of business unit performance to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvements.
Reviewing monthly accounts prepared by a third-party provider, analysing results, and identifying opportunities for growth.
Conducting additional ad hoc analysis and data interrogation as required.

Your profile:
To be considered for this role we are looking for a Finance Analyst who can demonstrate the following capabilities:

A strong accounting and commercial background, not necessarily CA/CPA
An ability to work in an unstructured / ad hoc basis
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with senior executives comfortably
An enquiring mind where you can demonstrate a curious and inquisitive mindset to problem solve/find opportunities
Strong excel and modelling skills
Strong data analytics capability
Proven modelling capability
