Location: Ōtāhuhu, Auckland, New ZealandContract Type: Full-Time Permanent ContractAs a DB Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate management accounting, reporting, planning, and forecasting for Business Support functions including Corporate Affairs, Legal, Finance, IT, Head Office, and HR (People). You'll manage monthly close processes, provide insightful variance analysis, and partner with department heads to support cost management and strategic decision-making. Additionally, you'll support the Strategic Controller in coordinating DB's planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles, including system uploads and performance reporting to leadership teams. Your role also involves financial modelling and analysis for strategic projects, identifying key drivers and trends to inform business strategy.Key Accountabilities:
  • Business Support Financial Management: Lead monthly close processes and deliver accurate reports explaining variances to budget, latest estimates, and prior year. Partner with department heads to monitor costs and provide financial support on projects.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Coordinate and ensure timely preparation of latest estimates and budgets for Business Support functions, aligned with business directives and timelines.
  • Enterprise-Level Reporting: Produce clear and timely reports on DB's overall business performance for the Leadership Team, Regional, and Global stakeholders. Manage budget uploads into SAP and Anaplan systems.
  • Strategic Planning Support: Assist the Strategic Controller in managing DB's Strategic Plan, Annual Plan, and Rolling Forecasts, driving alignment and results across the business and finance teams.
  • Strategic Project Analysis: Provide financial modelling and analysis for key strategic initiatives, identifying drivers, trends, and benchmarks to support strategy development and ad-hoc business control projects.
Your background and experience:
  • Tertiary accounting qualification required; Chartered Accountancy preferred. Must have commercial finance experience and familiarity with SAP (including AFO).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with strong ability to analyse large datasets accurately and efficiently under time pressure.
  • Capable of interpreting complex and incomplete data to extract key insights, with intellectual curiosity and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to tailor and visually present insights to different audiences to support decision-making.
  • Skilled at managing conflicting priorities while supporting multiple stakeholders, with a passion for delivering results and driving practical execution plans.
